Hello!
I am so sad to see that I had been away since May of 2024. I promise that I have still done some writing and I am determined to get back in the habit of writing here on a more regular basis.
Quick wrap up of 2025:
Still teaching 5th Grade
Have 2 amazing dogs---Albert and Daisy--Daisy joined us in February. Can't imagine life without these 2 sweet pups.
Did a few races but not nearly as many as usual:
New Year's Day Dash 5 miler
Brrry Scurry 4 miler
Naperville Women's Half
Waunafest 10 miler
Alzheimer's Half
Quad Cities Half
Galena Half
My word for 2025 was ROOTED and I feel like I did an excellent job of holding steady like roots do. I stayed rooted in my job, my relationship with my family, and in most of my routines. I was also able to grow without uprooting myself. I took 2 writing classes this fall that helped me in a variety of ways. I don't plan on giving up on the idea of rooted. I'd like to grow deeper roots with a few close relationships, health habits like my strength training, running, and water consumption.
My word for 2025 was Rooted. This year taught me that being rooted doesn’t mean standing still—it means knowing where I belong.
I stayed grounded in my faith and my confidence in myself.
And when things felt unsteady, I leaned into my love of being at home.
New growth is coming in 2026 because I am rooted and ready!
